Pottery lessons, tools, and supplies in Miami, Florida.  Gumbo Limbo Pottery offers ceramics classes for children or adults of any skill level and for groups of all sizes.  Come make pottery with us for your next birthday party, clay date, or special event!

Gumbo Limbo Pottery is a pottery gallery and studio in Kendall offering classes on the potter's wheel or in hand building. We have kids clay classes and adult classes scheduled during the day and in the evenings. Groups, couples, or individuals welcome and can be scheduled at your convenience. You can also shop for local, handmade ceramic art in our gallery featuring work from 6 Miami artists specializing in stoneware, porcelain, raku, earthenware, and more.

Sculpting Animals with Puchi Noriega
September 12, 10am–4pm (one hour lunch break)

Spend the day sculpting your favorite animal in clay with international artist Puchi Noriega. Through step-by-step demonstrations, you'll learn techniques for building and hollowing out an animal sculpture, covering proportion, structure, and detail. Open to all levels, from first-time hand builders to experienced sculptors.

Students are encouraged to bring a picture of their animal of choice for inspiration.

Price includes clay and bisque firing. Studio tools are available to use, or bring your own if you prefer. Pieces will be hollowed out and left at Gumbo Limbo Pottery to dry before bisque firing.

Pieces will be ready for pickup approximately 3 weeks after the workshop. A clear glaze will be applied at no charge, or students who wish to glaze their own piece can come in on October 3 from 4–6pm for an additional fee of $20.

About Puchi Noriega

Puchi Noriega is an international artist born in Peru, where her relationship with clay began at age three in her family's ceramic studio. She has received grants from the Canada Council for the Arts and the Ontario Arts Council, and has taught classes and workshops at art schools and institutions in Peru, Canada, Costa Rica, and the US.

Puchi served as President of the Ceramic League of Miami and has shown work in over 70 group and solo exhibitions. Her pieces are held in private and public collections. She now lives and works in Canada.
