Sculpting Masks
Whether you are a history buff or just enjoy the look of a fun ornamental mask, in this workshop you will have the opportunity to create your own design, ranging from the traditional Venetian Carnival mask, the Mexican day of the dead, or an ethnic African or South American mask.
Students are encouraged to bring sketches or images for inspiration!
Price includes clay and bisque firing of pieces. Students are welcome to use our studio tools or bring their own if they prefer. Pieces will be left for drying and bisque firing at Gumbo Limbo Pottery.
Participants can pick up their bisque-fired pieces approximately 2-3 weeks after the workshop. Students who wish to glaze their sculptures can come in to glaze at a TBD date for an additional fee of $20 which covers the cost of glaze and the second firing. Students enrolled in the Feb/March 6-week sessions of classes at Gumbo Limbo Pottery can glaze their pieces during glaze week of their regular class session at no additional charge.
